Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Sampling Units – One Green Bean

Kennovations was engaged by One Green Bean to design and manufacture mobile ice cream sampling units for their client Ben & Jerry’s. The sampling units were designed to fit the Ben & Jerry’s fleet of customised VW Kombi vans. Each unit holds 4 flavours of ice cream, kept at optimum temperature through internal cooling. Fully loaded each unit can serve over 250 samples, with easy access to cups and spoons via integrated dispensers. Brushed stainless steel surfaces complimented by gloss acrylic panels and vivid graphics give the units strong visual presence.

The units, approved by food and health authorities feature removable components that allow for easy cleaning and maintenance. Ice cream can be served straight out of the back of the van, or the units can easily be removed and placed on tables for promotional events. Manufacture comprised in-house fabrication and subcontracted component production, with final assembly taking place in the Kennovations Sydney workshop. The project was taken from concept to delivery within 4 weeks. The sampling took place at a variety of events across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane during Spring 2010.
