DRAGON BOAT STACKER - Space Saving Rowing Systems (SSRS)
Dragon Boat Racing is a great team sport which is growing in popularity in Australia. It also provides a means for rowing clubs to extend their offering and increase memberships. Kennovations was engaged by Space Saver Rowing Systems to adapt their mechanical row boat stacker (a previous Kennovations project) to accommodate the longer and heavier dragon boats. The new mechanical Dragon Boat Stacker is designed to hold three dragon boats and a six-man outrigger canoe on top. With mechanical operation it removes the safety risks of manually lifting boats in and out of static boat racks from above head height. The mechanical dragon boat stacker reduces storage and retrieval times by half and uses one third of the space normally required to store the boats. The dragon boat stacker provides an economical, safe and secure way to store and retrieve dragon boats and is currently being used by the Gold Coast Dragons Club in QLD.
