CROCODILE BARRIER GATES - Sydney Wildlife World
Kennovations was commissioned by Sydney Wildlife World to design, construct and install three hydraulically operated barriers gates for the new Kakadu Gorge habitat that houses Rex, a giant 5 metre saltwater crocodile. The purpose of the barriers is to isolate sections of the enclosure to allow safe access for the reptile keepers and maintenance personnel. The barriers are activated (rising up from beneath the enclosure floor) up to 3 times a day for educational presentations and maintenance. When the barriers are retracted they blend seamlessly into the enclosure environment.
