Kennovations Speaks at SEMIP Innovation Showcase 2011
June 2011
Kennovations Vic Manager, Darren Brink was invited to speak at the South East Melbourne Innovation Precinct (SEMIP) inaugural Innovation Showcase held in Moorabbin on Thursday, 16th June 2011. The program brought together representatives from business, research and government to engage with keynote speakers on topics designed to expand innovation and growth within the precinct.
Drawing on Kennovations expertise in product design and engineering, Darren Brink co-chaired an “Innovation in Manufacturing” session designed to communicate how specialist new product development (NPD) companies assist businesses to become industry leaders and achieve success through product innovation.
Darren discussed the importance of professional methodology, team work and robust design documentation in achieving commercial success. “Professional methodology drives the process and ensures ‘real world’ business inputs are included. Team work enhances ‘cross-pollination’ of ideas across industries and networks. Design documentation captures critical information to ensure that quality can be readily communicated across town or across the world.”
The Innovation Showcase event was well attended. Topics covered the areas of constrained resources and climate change, collaboration and open innovation, and advances in biotechnology, manufacturing and business systems management.
