Magna-Hinge Wins A 2010 Australian International Design Mark™ Award
June 2010

We are excited to announce that Magna-Hinge developed by Glass Hardware Australia is a proud recipient of a 2010 Australian International Design Mark™ Award.

Magna-Hinge is a unique self-closing hinge designed specifically for frameless glass pool fencing and is the safest and most reliable hinge in the industry complying with Australian Standards AS1926 and AS2820.

The hinge comprises of a spring with high-powered magnets and shock absorbers that ensure reliable pool gate closing every time from any position whether fully or slightly open, vastly improving pool safety. Magna-Hinge closes with a soft and light action opposed to the hard slam of conventional pool gates. The innovative design also eliminates the need for in-floor hardware providing for quick installation.

Presented by Standards Australia, the Australian International Design Awards is Australia’s premier design assessment program. Products entered into the Awards were judged by a multidisciplinary panel of Australian and international design experts against criteria including innovation, visual and emotional appeal, functionality, quality of manufacturing, human factors (ergonomics, semantics and safety) and environmental sustainability. Winners were announced at the Presentation Night on Friday, 4 June 2010 in Sydney.
