RORY KENNARD - Managing Director - B Engineering [Mechanical] Hons - MDIA
Rory founded Kennovations in 2000, stemming from a love of inventing and several design opportunities.
Rory has grown the company employing an increasing list of staff members and servicing several high
profile clients across the country. Rory has a Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Hons) and has designed
a wide variety of products utilising the most current manufacturing techniques.
Rory is a surfing and skiing enthusiast and enjoys the challenges that come with all sports. Whenever he gets
a chance he loves getting his hands dirty working on the tools, inventing and building things. |

TIM PHILLIPS - General Manager - B Industrial Design, University of Technology Sydney - Casual Academic - MDIA
Tim studied Industrial Design at Newcastle University and joined Kennovations in 2007 after running his own Industrial Design consultancy, Updraft Designs. Tim has lectured at Newcastle University in Industrial Design, Graphic Design and English Language and Foundation Studies and is currently a causal academic at UTS tutoring Product Technology and Major Project Realisation. Tim has a special interest area of Sustainable and Environmental Design. He has worked on a broad range of projects including developing materials handling equipment, specialised machinery, architectural installations, environmental and green energy solutions. Tim sees the future of good design in improved efficiency coupled with a focus on smart user interaction.
Tim is a greyhound enthusiast who has enjoyed racing and breeding as a hobby for many years. He’s also a novice surfer and is keen to develop his capabilities in the waves. |

DAMON O'HARE - Business Development Manager
Damon is a qualified Mechanical Engineer and has 13 years' experience in sales, solution selling and mechanical engineering. He has been involved in a wide range of industries from plastics engineering, architectural engineering fit outs and low voltage automation products. Damon has worked on engineering projects for both residential and commercial applications. He enjoys the challenge of technical problem solving and assisting clients to achieve their goals.
During non-work hours, Damon enjoys time with his young family, planning his next house renovation, finding time to go motorcycling and supporting passionately the sport of rugby union. |

CRAIG SCHRODER - Senior Designer - B Technology (Industrial Design)
Craig joined Kennovations in 2007 after relocating to Australia from South Africa. He has 7 years design
experience encompassing many new product design projects for various industries. His experience prior
to Kennovations includes designing for the Point Of Sale, Security, Fashion and Mechanical industries. He
is a keen designer always looking for new project challenges.
Craig spends much of his spare time around cars and the odd home project, not to mention his love for
beautiful sunsets and long walks on the beach. |

MICHAEL WHITE - Senior Designer - B Industrial Design
Michael graduated from the Uni SA Industrial Design course in Adelaide in 2003, since then he has split his time working in Australia and the UK. His background in design and management spans Lighting and Domestic Electrical products, Footwear, Point of Sale and products for the Construction Industry. His thirst for manufacturing knowledge and the satisfaction gained from making great ideas come to life is what drives Michael as a designer.
Michael enjoys surfing when the waves are up and selecting tunes from his vinyl collection while working on his latest little project at home. |

SCOTT FRYER - Senior Designer - BSc (Hons) Product Design
Scott graduated from his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wolverhampton in 1999 in the UK and has since worked on the design of many different products and machines including automotive sunroofs, military vehicle heater units, biotech lab machines and equipment, consumer products, parking meters and special purpose production machinery. He loves his job and gets great satisfaction from turning concept ideas into workable solutions.
When not working he enjoys spending time with his young family, working on and driving his classic VW Kombi, riding his motorcycle, surfing and tennis. |

DOUG MATTHEWS - Senior Designer - B Industrial Design (Contractor)
Doug joined the Kennovations Melbourne team in 2010 bringing a mix of design and management experience across a range of industries. Doug graduated from RMIT Industrial Design in 1994 before moving to Wollongong to join BHP Steel's Product Applications Lab, a team focussed on developing innovative steel based products for BHP's downstream businesses and customers. He then moved his focus to the point-of-sale industry where his designs received numerous POPAI industry awards including 'Display of the Year'. He has also run his own design consultancy offering industrial and graphic design solutions for a variety of industries from cosmetics to water harvesting.
When not at work or spending time with his wife and kids Doug is planning his next backcountry powder skiing adventure, racing his catamaran or mountain biking through the bush. |

KAREN MCKERLIE - Designer - B Industrial Design (Hons)
Karen started at Kennovations in 2007 as part of a Work Experience Program to complete her degree and is now an integral part of the business. Her expertise in Solid Edge enables creation of complex computer models and drawings ready for presentations, assembly of parts and manufacturing for various design projects. Karen is driven by a desire to make tasks in life easier through innovative product design.
Karen enjoys spending time with friends and being outdoors, particularly at the beach or on the soccer field. |

MICHAEL CASE - Designer - B Engineering [Mechanical]
Mike joined Kennovations in 2011 as part of a Work Experience Program to complete his degree and has since joined the team on a full time basis. He completed his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at Sydney University, studying electives in renewable energy and mechanical design. Mike is inspired by creative engineering solutions.
When not at work Mike enjoys travel and working on his collection of bicycles and motorbikes. |

PATRICK BODIMEADE - Designer - B Industrial Design
Pat joined Kennovations as a work experience student in 2008 whilst studying Industrial Design at UTS (University of Technology Sydney). He is now a key member of the design team, predominately responsible for fabricating prototypes and managing the workshop. Pat has been making and designing products from a very early age, being inquisitive he would often pull apart appliances that were broken and repair them. Pat has a passion for working with all sorts of materials and making the best out of them. He has particular expertise in working with timber (he was given his first drill for his 12th birthday). Having always played team sports, he has established himself as a people person and an enthusiastic team player.
In his spare time Pat plays rugby union, races a surf ski, and enjoys surfing. He also spends many summer weekends on Sydney's northern beaches as a volunteer Surf Life Saver ( which he has been doing for over 14 years). |

KIN JING LY - Designer - B Industrial Design
Kin started at Kennovations in 2011 to gain industry experience to enhance his study of product design at university. He completed his Bachelor of Industrial Design at UNSW where he also dabbled in manufacturing, set and exhibition design. Perfecting the interaction between the user and the design is a passion for Kin.
A self-declared book worm, Kin also enjoys outdoor activities and sports as well as practicing Aikido and the guitar.

ALISON TAYLOR - Office Administrator
Alison completed an animal handling course in 2006 at TAFE and completed her High School studies in the same year. Soon after she decided to follow her passion for organising and put her general administration and office skills to use. Alison has not looked back and runs the Kennovations office.
Alison likes bushwalking in spring and summer time. She also enjoys keeping reptiles and has 2 Eastern Bearded Dragons, 3 Central Bearded Dragons and 1 Jacky Lizard. |

CHRIS BOWMAN - Financial Controller - B Business - Member of CPA Australia
Chris joined Kennovations in 2011 as Financial Controller. He brings a wealth of experience across a diverse range of industries as an Accountant and Finance Manager.
Chris has been a musician most of his life, and particularly enjoys listening to live music. He is an avid supporter of the St Kilda AFL team. |

MICHELLE HENEBERY - Marketing Manager - CIM Post Graduate Diploma
Michelle joined Kennovations in 2009. She has a wealth of marketing experience gained throughout her career in marketing communications agencies and marketing management positions in business. Michelle has worked predominately in Australia and 4 years in the UK. Her experience and skills include the strategic development and implementation of holistic marketing plans utilising a variety of marketing disciplines. Michelle has extensive experience working with creative teams.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys spending tim with their family, playing soccer and futsal, and home renovation projects. |
