The Product
The Solar Bus Shelter system has been designed to suit the very particular aesthetic and functional requirements of modern, dynamic cities in the United Arab Emirates- also one of the hottest and harshest inhabited climates in the world where ambient temperatures can exceed 50°C. The system is modular and based on a single Small Format shelter capable of being joined end-to-end to create medium, large and extra large shelters as demanded by individual sites. The Solar Bus Shelter incorporates state-of-the-art technology to provide comfortable, safe, informative world-class shelter for public transport commuters. The shelter features PIR steel laminated insulation, thermally reflective argon-filled double glazed windows, dual air-conditioning, real-time digital LCD media & timetable displays, high intensity LED down lighting and backlit advertising panels powered by 1400W roof-mounted high efficiency solar panels.
The Process
Synectix Enclosures engaged Kennovations initially to quickly develop a feasible 3D CAD concept design which met the requirements of the tender and produce photorealistic images of the design proposal for inclusion in their technical submission documentation. Following a successful tender submission, Kennovations then spear-headed the progression of the concept design to full-scale working prototype, supplying production drawings to Synectix for production and managing the sourcing and customization of standard and specialist parts and required.
The Result
The Solar Bus Shelter was successfully exhibited at the International Construction Exhibition in Dubai. Synectix Enclosures is currently negotiating production and supply contracts with various major cities in the UAE.
