The Product
The Invisible Clothesline is a fold-away clothes drying and airing product that can be attached to any type of indoor or outdoor wall. The product features an extremely slim profile in the fold-away position, and the outside cover can be customized with picture frames and prints to help it blend into any household room.
The Process
The client approached Kennovations with a prototype, basic concept sketches, and a vision to streamline and improve the functionality of the design for mass-production. Working with the client to identify particular functional and aesthetic requirements, Kennovations was able to achieve the ideal solution through use of a design process utlising 3D computer aided designs, and in-house prototyping. Kennovations provided 2D and 3D detailed production documentation and assisted the client in sourcing an accredited overseas manufacturer.
The Result
The Invisible Clothesline was the weekly winner on the ABC’s The New Inventors program and attracted considerable interest at DesignEX, and the Home Show exhibitions in 2007. The product is currently in the final stages of manufacturing and shipping and will be available on the market late 2007.
